Sports Bars are the place to be to enjoy the big game. Hooters, with three convenient locations in Austin, is one of our favorite places to enjoy lots of flat screen action and, on Tuesdays, endless wings. If not everyone in your party wants to watch the big game, Third Base Sports Bar is a great option with lots of fun activities like shuffleboard, pool, darts and more. At Maggie Mae's on famous Sixth Street, you can watch the big game in the downstairs sports bar then go up to the rooftop to enjoy the view. You can catch just about any type of sport on the big screens in comfort. Say you are looking forward to the big UT game, but your favorite pro team is playing at the same time. No problem! You can watch both on two separate screens in the same room. You will still be able to share in the excitement without the hassle of the crowds. Sports bars aren't just for male bonding anymore. The sports bar atmosphere is as much for the hip crowd as it is for the family friendly bunch. And don't forget about the cold beverages and hot meals. They beat the concession lines Austinites love their award-winning University of Texas collegiate athletes and hate to miss a game, so you will most likely find them at the nearest tavern with the game on one plasma, and the pro Austin Aztecs (Soccer), Austin Toros (basketball) or Round Rock Express (baseball) playing on the other. Sure tailgating is fun and the game is exciting, but you can't beat the fun and excitement you experience in a relaxed atmosphere. ![]() Photo Top Courtesy of Third Base Sports Bar, Photo Right Courtesy of the Austin Toros
