Slightly northeast of Austin, in the heart of downtown Pflugerville, stands a quaint 110-year-old red brick building. This building is home to the European Bistro, founded by sisters Anni Zovek (proprietor) and Piroska Althauer (executive chef). European Bistro serves a delicious variety of European cuisine, pastries, and espresso, particularly from Hungary and its bordering countries—though they also serve American, Czech, French, German, and Russian fare. But the bistro doesn’t only serve food: they also feature classical music, as well as live entertainment from Friday to Sunday. Additionally, they cater private events: you can book a 2-4 person Private Cove, or a banquet room for up to 175 people (to book either a Private Cove or the banquet room, make reservations in advance).
European Bistro boasts an impressive menu, attached below. Check out the authentic breaded veal with lemon slices (Wienerschnitzel) or mushroom gravy (Jägerschnitzel), or the Hungarian style Roast Duck. On the side, try a delectable soup such as the Sour Cherry Soup. Top off your meal with a rich dessert, such as Mozart Cake, Chestnut Cake, Sachertorte, or Gundel Crêpes. And don’t miss the lunch specials on Thursday-Sunday from 11am-4pm, priced at $6.95-$9.95! Download European Bistro's Menu
