Find Everything You Need (and More than a Few Things You Want) at Davenport Village by Caitlin Moore Davenport Village offers a surprising array of shops and services for those with a taste for luxury. From tennis rackets to fine jewelry, Italian shoes to L.A.’s hottest labels, this trendy collection of shops will leave no desire unsatisfied. Where else might you end up purchasing a sweater for your favorite canine, a designer handbag, and a fancy new bicycle, all in one stop? It’s certainly a wonderful feeling to know that whether you’re on a mission to have your favorite suit tailored or simply hoping to stumble across the perfect gift for a special person, you’re unlikely to go home empty-handed. But, of course, not everything you’ll find here fits in a shopping bag. There are a number of businesses that focus on self-improvement and relaxation, as well. After an afternoon at the Pilates studio, a session with a personal trainer, or an appointment at the spa, perhaps all you’ll leave with is an improved state of mind. If shopping and relaxation lead to working up an appetite, there are several available dining choices on the premises. If you’re in the mood for sushi or pizza, restaurants such as Dragon Gate by Phoenix or 360 Uno Espresso & Vino are sure to offer something tasty to satisfy an empty stomach. If all you need is a late afternoon pick-me-up, enjoy a cup of coffee, a dish of ice cream, or for more adult tastes, a margarita and some chips and salsa on the Maudie’s patio, which overlooks the shopping center and some of Austin’s most beautiful rolling hills. In essence, Davenport Village represents aspects of Austin that we all recognize: it is unique, it is up-to-the-minute, and there is a surprise around every corner.

Tucked away in the scenic West Hills of Austin, Davenport Village seems to exist as a respite from the fast-paced goings-on of the rest of the city. Within the confines of this open-air shopping center (located on Loop 360 just north of Westlake Drive), the bustling traffic is only a faint echo. Instead of cars whizzing by, there are just the sounds of rustling palm trees, murmuring fountains, and the light tread of shoppers as they amble from store to store.
